(ProAssurance Mid-Continent) underwrites healthcare professional liability insurance on an excess and surplus lines basis on behalf of insurance subsidiaries of ProAssurance Corporation. ProAssurance Mid-Continent provides professional liability, general liability, and non-owned automobile liability coverages. The core programs underwritten are: allied healthcare providers; social services; small, critical access, rural and specialized hospitals; long-term care, which includes skilled nursing, assisted living and independent living facilities; and a long list of miscellaneous professionals.
ProAssurance Mid-Continent is a Texas corporation, licensed as a Texas managing general agent, surplus lines agent, and general lines property and casualty agent, with the ability to write business in all states except Maine, New Hampshire, New York, and Rhode Island. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary within the ProAssurance group of companies.
